About Ray

Ray’s start in the car business was not exactly a textbook entry and he is incredibly grateful for that. He started on the sales floor when he was 18 years old. He was part of a crew that staffed direct mail events or “mega sales” for various dealers around the Midwest. He was immediately surrounded by incredible sales talent and managers who constantly tested his abilities to see if he could keep up with the fast pace and demand of the job.

Living out of his suitcase while paying my way through college on a commission-based job gave him an incredible sense of self-reliance and fortitude. The competitive nature of the job and the rewards that came with the hard work kept him wanting to learn all he could and continue in this business.

His love of working with dealers and being in showrooms on busy Saturdays eventually led him into management positions after college. He worked as a finance manager and eventually a finance director helping to run departments for several large dealers in the Metro Detroit market. After 10 years in retail, he saw a huge opportunity in the online space that no dealer or vendors really figured out how to capitalize on.

The car business is moving into a new era and Ray is leading the way. Because of social media, the way we research cars and interact with customers has changed, and car dealers are very slow to adapt to this change. The popular way of thinking in the car business is to give as little information as possible to get customers in the door. However, this is ultimately scaring them away. Customers want the majority of the sale to already be done before they walk into the dealership. Ray’s business model is all about communication and building connections, in order to close a sale.
